First time Bellingham

Hi people,

Here is my new update. Right now I am staying in a lovely house in Bellingham. While we were on the plane from New York to Seattle we had a pretty bumpy ride but I survived, otherwise I couldn’t have written this new update.

At first I was a bit nervous meeting my host family, because I never met her and I need to live here for three weeks. The moment I met my host, it felt very welcoming and I had no problem adjusting in her home. She showed me everything and I am free to use all things I need.

The only thing we had to do in our first weekend was getting to know our host families. The thing I liked the most about my host is, she likes theatre as much as I do. That is why she took me to see the Cavalia show at Marymoor park, which is kind of Cirque du Soleil show but it involves horses as well. I really loved to go there, it was an amazing show.

Today we had our first meeting at the Whatcom community college. I thought it would be a very big campus, but in fact it isn’t that big at all, they only have like 5000 students attending classes. We also had our first presentation today about baseball, I am not really into that kind sport, that is why I thought it was going to be very boring. But, as a matter of fact the lecture was pretty interesting. The guy who talked about baseball (who is called Guy, I thought that was pretty funny), gave the lecture in such a way that I really got interested in the game. Now I am really looking forward to go to the game on Friday.

Well that is about it for today, and let’s see what tomorrow will bring.

Hier is dan de nieuwe update voor mijn blog. Op dit moment verblijf ik bij mijn gastouder in Bellingham. Toen wij naar Seattle vlogen, hadden we niet zo’n goede start, de vlucht was namelijk vrij ruig. Verder was ik ook erg zenuwachtig om mijn gastouder te ontmoeten, in de zin van mag ik haar wel, want ik moet hier wel 3 weken verblijven. Alles is mij gelukkig meegevallen Patti is heel erg aardig en laat mij alles doen en laten wat ik zelf wil doen. Naast haar, woon ik hier ook met 2 geweldige honden. Ik ben helemaal verkocht aan haar beesten, vooral de chiuaua, wat een geweldig beest is dat.

Het eerste weekend was in het teken van de gastouders leren kennen. Het leukste wat ik heb meegemaakt is, is dat mijn gastouder een theaterfreak is net zoals ik. Ze heeft mij meegenomen naar de Cavalia Show. Dit is een soort van Cirque du Soleil, maar dan met paarden erbij.

Vandaag hadden wij onze eerste ontmoeting met de Whatcom Community College. Ik dacht dat het echt een enorm grote campus zou zijn, maar dit viel heel erg mee. Na de hele introductie en de tour, kregen wij onze eerste presentatie voorgedragen. De presentatie ging over baseball, ikzelf ben niet zo geïnteresseerd in baseball. Daarom dacht ik dat de presentatie erg saai zou zijn, nou wat had ik het mis. De presentatie was erg leuk en ik heb er veel van geleerd en ik kijk nu zelfs uit naar de baseballwedstrijd aankomende vrijdag.
Nou dit is alles voor vandaag, en blijf opletten want er volgt nog een hoop…..
